2018 Bike of the Year Awards
November has quickly become a massive month on the bikesales calendar, as it’s the time when we announce our annual Bike of the Year (BOTY) winner.

As so it was again on November 23 when the Kawasaki Z900RS Café was awarded the top gong in 2018 after what was undoubtedly the most competitive BOTY campaign yet.
The Z900RS Café, as the retro/café winner in the 2018 BOTY awards, ventured to Tasmania in mid-October alongside eight other category winners: the BMW S 1000 XR HP, BMW K 1600 Grand America, Ducati Panigale V4 S, Harley-Davidson Fat Bob 114, Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports, KTM 1290 Super Duke GT, Kymco AK 550 and Yamaha MT-09SP.

After 1000km on some of the best roads in the Apple Isle, we returned to Bikesales HQ to crunch the numbers using a newly devised ratings system.
To say it was a tight contest was an understatement, but it was the Z900RS Cafe that just scraped home, ahead of a tie for second place between the Panigale V4 S and K 1600 Grand America.

However, all the category winners performed superbly in Tasmania, and some even added a halo or two along the journey. The BOTY ride reaffirmed just how fortunate motorcycle consumers are today with the quality of machines on offer. It really is astounding.
bikesales announced the BOTY award at Moto Expo Melbourne. The three-day show was a great success, and all the exhibitors which made the effort to attend in such a demanding retail climate should be applauded. And the entertainment was first-class as well.

See you again in 2019, in what is shaping as another stellar year for the latest and greatest motorcycles.
